24 Season 7 Premiere: Part I ...

IN REVIEW:
Well, the day has come and the time has arrived.  It is a pleasure to say to my '24' fans ...

JACK IS BACK!!

Oh yes, the greatest made-for-tv American hero since John Wayne has come back to the TV scene this evening in great fine fashion.  And some shocking events have already happened to start the 7th season.

The season begins with action, right in the first minute as a computer programmer was kidnapped as his daughter was left there helpless.  He had to re-program a computer circuit board to gain control of airplane air control towers.  As that happens, the FBI asks for Jack Bauer.  Jack was being questioned by a stern and hot-headed senator who absolutely knows nothing about the good deeds that Jack has done for the country.

Jack gets off the hook and he then learns that his former parter and close friend, Tony Almedia is the one behind the latest firewall attacks.  Jack does not believe that but yet he agrees to find Tony and bring him to justice.

Meanwhile, the new President, 24's first female president has quite a handful of her own to deal with.  The Africa sub-plot during last months' 2-hour prequel came back to light when she authorizes military action against the made up nation.  As that happens, Tony and his new goon friends show their demonstration of the taking over of the air-control tower by actually remotely taking over the air transmissions to 2 planes and almost making them collide into each other.

Meanwhile, the President's husband is making trouble of his own.  His son, committed suicide, however he feels that it was foul play was afoot.  So, he hired a private investigator and he found out that his late son's girlfriend had $400K put into a off shore bank account, 4 days after his 'accidental' death.  The First Gentlemen confronts the girlfriend, and of course she denies and don't know anything at all.  He gets mad and vows to find the truth.

Tony releases the kidnapped computer programmer to a new guy who works for him.  He takes the guy to a secret bunker where one of the bad African general guys is.  Of course, he is there secretly and he says that he wants to talk to the President.

Finally, Jack finally finds Tony.  Jack roughs up Tony and asks, "What the hell happened to you?"  Indeed.  Touche.  What the hell happened.

PERSONAL THOUGHTS:
Well, all of us have thought what would 24 be like if it left Los Angeles, where it has been for the past 6 seasons.  We all thought, what would 24 be like if there was no CTU ... Well worry no more.  Personally, I was nicely surprised.  The writers are back.  The action is back.  Jack is back.  How much more do you want?

The 2 night 24 premiere continues Monday.  More action is coming.  Isn't January great???
