6 Stories ... 1/15/2009

Good evening. Today is Thursday, January 15, 2009.

Well, it's cold out.  And overnight it is only going to get even more cold out.  So, make sure you dress properly tomorrow to work and hopefully we will warm up to more respectful temps.  Finally about the temps out ... I know now why Sarah Palin don't like the lower 48 states .... it's warmer right now in Alaska then here.  Amazing.

Now, time for today's 6:

1:  We start this evening with a event that has been 8 years in the making.  And it couldn't have come at a more appropriate time.  Mr. Bush gave his last nationwide speech to the nation, just days before the national nightmare called his term in office, is about to expire.  Details on his speech from National Public Radio (NPR), and a full transcript of the speech from Faux News.

2:  Now an update to a story I posted earlier this evening.  A US Airways plane had to make a emergency landing at the Hudson River.  Everyone survived, but nerves were rattled, because of the nightmare of 9/11.  An amazing story of what happened from WGHP-TV High Point, NC.

3:  Looks like we now know what the new first-dog will be.  It will probably be a 7-month old Laberpoodle, named Sydney.  Details form WTTG-TV Washington, DC.

4:  Bad news for one of America's most beloved co-hosts of late night television.  Citibank won in court against Ed McMahon.  He owes them close to $200,000 in debt.  Story from KTRV-TV Nampa, ID.

5:  An interesting story now about a couple who went out for their anniversary dinner, but never returned.  Now, they are missing.  Details on this mystery from ABC News.

6:  If crime is a regular activity in your neighborhood, would you want to know?  Or do you want to find out for yourself?  I think most would choose the first choice.  But that is what they are doing in a New Orleans neighborhood.  But some think this is not a good idea.  Story from WDSU-TV New Orleans, LA.

More stories tomorrow.

Have a good evening.
