10 Stories ... 12/15/2008

Good morning.  Two very important stories shape this Monday morning.  But first of all, HOW BOUT DEM COWBOYS?!  That's right, we are back in the fight.  Now, Baltimore will face our fury.  Go cowboys!

Our first two stories are personal choice stories, as they broke overnight and both are equally mentioning.

Story 1 ...
In a shocking event that happened as President Bush traveled to Iraq, he was pelted by shoes at a news conference.  He asked for questions and a Iraqi journalist took his shoes off, threw them one by one at the President.  Bush just brushed it off like nothing happened.  And it was all caught on video.  Story from AP via MyWay.com.  In some personal reflection and opinion of the story:  In the Arab and Islamic culture, if someone does this to you, it is considered to be the greatest insult that could happen to you.  So, if you look at this just in that perspective, then you can easily tell what they think of him.  As in the song title of the New Radicals one hit wonder, Mr. Bush, sorry but "You Get What You Give".

Story 2 ...
In a equally sad and scary story ... Los Angeles Times reports on a Utah 'prophet' who says that there is no way that Obama will take office.  He predicts a nuclear Christmas as that disaster will prevent Obama from office.  As you read the article, the poor writer has to go into deep rural Utah (sounds like Osama right?), and he says that our time is up.  Why do we have to put up with stuff like this???

Story 3 ...
Talk about being lazy ... A Cleveland Browns fan was cited for coming to the stadium, on  a couch. Kinda brings new meaning to the term, couch potato.  Story from WJW-TV Cleveland, OH.

Story 4 ...
For the first time since the Cold War, Russian warships will visit Cuba.  Story from KXXV-TV in Weslaco, TX.

Story 5 ...
As you know, newspapers across America is facing hard times.  Recently, the Rocky Mountain News of Denver, CO has been put up for sale.  Well, now in a attempt to save itself, the embattled newspaper made a website asking readers to tell why they love their newspaper.  This story from KMGH-TV Denver, CO.

Story 6 ...
As you may know, Chicago's famous Wrigley Field will host a NHL game on New Year's Day.  Now the ball-park is opening the park for a limited time, to ice skating.  The cost?  $10. Story from WLS-TV Chicago, IL.

Story 7 ...
When the President-Elect comes to Washington, DC to take the oath of office, he will arrive by train.  Story from KKTV-TV Colorado Springs, CO.

Story 8 ...
Some ignorant people think that Obama is Muslim.  Well, this will quiet their fears.  The Obama went Christmas Tree shopping this weekend.  Story from WMAQ-TV in Chicago, IL.

Story 9 ...
Looks like due to funding cuts and not enough money, the Philadelphia's Mummer's Parade is in limbo.  Story from The Patriot-News - Harrisburg, PA.

Story 10 ...
And our final story of the morning.  The Fort Dix terror trail is in closing arguments.  Story from Courier-Post - Cherry Hill, NJ.

Have a great day everyone.  More stories tomorrow or later today if anything breaks.
